Ron DeSantis Petition for Covid Vaccine Grand Jury and My Response filed in Florida Supreme Court
My Response Says the Court Should Impanel a Grand Jury and Order that DeSantis Be a Target of the Grand Jury Investigation
I previously reported in my Newsletter of December 15, 2022 that Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida has done a 180 degree turn by now suggesting that Covid vaccines manufactured by Pfizer and Moderna are not effective and they may cause heart irregularities and other maladies. His source of this information is his Health Director, Dr. Ladapo, a vaccine denier who is not exactly in the mainstream of medical thinking.
In order to promote his new revelation, DeSantis has filed a Petition with the Supreme Court of Florida seeking to impanel a State Wide Grand Jury to investigate wrongful, deceitful, inaccurate, and fraudulent information about the mRNA vaccines, and, of course, the conspiracy among Pharma, trade groups, and government to hide the negative effects of the vaccines. He wants grand jury investigations of the CDC, FDA, the Biden Administration, President Biden, Pfizer and its officers and directors, and Moderna and its officers and directors and anyone else who has ever said anything positive about or promoted use of the mRNA Covid vaccines.
DeSantis used to believe that the Covid vaccines were safe and effective, but he has now been captivated or captured by some Republicans, including people on his staff and his General Counsel, who now believe that administration of Covid vaccines will somehow harm the populace. The fact that there is no documented evidence supporting his new claims of wide-spread harm from Covid vaccines is no hindrance to him espousing his new religion of being an anti-vaxer.
So, DeSantis decided that he could promote his political goals by taking a strong stance against Covid vaccines as a way of emphasizing “freedom” as his goal and calling. Apparently, he wants the freedom to get sick and die and to cause the same in others from proximity.
This is just another DeSantis political stunt designed to stir up the Republican base and crown him as the new head of MAGA USA.
So, I decided to join the fray for the sake of truth, public health, and welfare of Floridians and everyone with whom they may be in contact, and today I filed a Response to DeSantis Petition with the Florida Supreme Court.
In my Response I asked the Court to grant DeSantis Petition and to Impanel a State Wide Grand Jury to investigate the scourge of disinformation surrounding the mRNA Covid Vaccines. But I also asked the Court to order that DeSantis himself, as well as his Administration and his Health Director, to be subjects of the Grand Jury investigation so that the Grand Jury can investigate the falsehoods now being disseminated by DeSantis. Perhaps the Grand Jury can devise appropriate countermeasures to the DeSantis disinformation campaign.
DeSantis has filed this Petition at a time when Covid cases are again increasing, as was shown by data from the Florida Department of Health, dated December 16, 2022, which I attached to my Response. We are entering the winter months when Covid cases are most pronounced, so by initiating his new hostility to Covid vaccines at a time when the populace needs boosters, as were shown to be effective in a CDC report released a few days ago, DeSantis is seeking to endanger people’s health so he can supposedly gain politically.
It is truly a sad day for America if a politician can launch a campaign against Covid vaccines and Covid boosters in order to, in some warped political thinking, gain traction among certain die hard groups of non-thinkers.
I hope the Florida Supreme Court will see through DeSantis effort and designate him as a necessary Grand Jury target.
