Trump's Garden Rally Was A Full No-Holds Barred Racism and Hatred
Trump's Closing Argument is a Call for Racism, Hatred and Misogyny
Trump’s Rally at Madison Square Garden on Sunday outdid reports of the German American Bund Nazi Rally at the Garden in 1939. Trump’s rally was explicit in its celebration of hatred, ridicule, racism and misogyny. The 1939 Nazi rally was more restrained than Trump’s overt show of hatred. The Nazis were still trying to project a false story of how Hitler was not bad but only wanted to revive Germany. Of course, that was false, but it was so much more restrained than the virulent racism, anti-semitism and misogyny at Trump’s rally.
Promoting a speaker who called Puerto Rico an island of garbage and referring to a Black man in the audience as carving watermelons and not pumpkins. Then there were the misogynist speakers conveying their hatred of women. And of course we had strong doses of anti-semitism saying that Jews are cheap, which is a tough comment when Trump is a noted cheapskate who cheats his family, contractors, vendors, lawyers and anyone to whom he owes money, including the United States.
How can we have a candidate of a major political party have such an overt show of support for hatred of so many Americans. If I were a Republican, I would be very worried about the electoral consequences of Trump’s racist rally. Rick Scott, one of my vile Florida Senators, has attacked the anti-Puerto Rico comments of Trump’s cast of racist characters. It shows how off the charts Trump’s rally was when Rick Scott attacks the performance. Of course Scott, who is running for re-election needs the votes of Puerto Ricans living in Florida, but that does not bother Trump, who thinks only of his own election chances by inciting the MAGA to come out and vote for him. Rick Scott be damned, says Trump.
While Trump is promoting racism, Harris is promoting equality, respect for all Americans, preserving a woman’s right to reproductive freedom and promoting joy and hope.
It is most important that Democrats have a strong turnout in voting. Though the polls are so close, still elections are not decided by polls, rather a presidential race, like other federal elections, are decided by who actually turns out to vote: by mail, by absentee ballot, by early voting or election day voting. From reports I have seen, the Democrats have an aggressive ground game to get out the vote while Elon Musk door knockers for Trump submit false billings charging Elon for house visits they never performed by using false geo-locator data.
Will Trump’s racist rally get George W. Bush to announce he is voting for Harris? Let’s hope that George W. announces his vote for Harris like Bush’s Vice-President, Dick Cheney, who announced for Harris with a strong statement promoting Democracy and the rule of law.
